Museum of Natural History, Geneva
Considered to be among the most modern of museums in Europe, the
Museum of Natural History in Geneva is home to almost 4,000 animals
in the forms of mammals, birds, invertebrates and vertebrates. Also
on display are many quality exhibits of stuffed animals which range
from aqua species to the larger of the animals. To complement the
displays the backdrops which contain accurate plant life are also
excellent. Perhaps the most impressive of all the exhibits are the
dinosaurs complete with an audio backdrop which would have been
typical of their environs.
In a different departure you are also treated to exhibitions of
minerals that can be found both here on earth and in space in the
form of meteorites, gems and fossils. The museum is open six days
a week (closed on Mondays) and from 930 am to 5pm and while there
is an entrance fee it is small.
Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Geneva
The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art was opened in September
1994 when an old factory was converted into a modern museum which
is home to many pieces of art. Spread out over 4,000 square meters

display. All of the pieces are contemporary and few are older than
40 years. Spread out over the 4,000 square meters are 1000 pieces
which are owned by the museum plus another 300 odd pieces which
are on permanent loan. If this isn't enough artwork for you check
to see if there is any visiting exhibits planned during your visit.

(Tuesday thru Friday) and from 11am to 6pm over the weekend. The
